Glyki village is located below the villages of Souli, at the exit of the Straits of Acheron, which is the natural border of the Regional Unity of Thesprotia and Preveza. In south-eastern boundaries of Thesprotia with Preveza, between the southern ends of the mountains of Paramythia and partly the mountains of Souli,the beautiful gorge that crosses the river Acheron is placed. Acheron River is stemmed from the mountains of Ioannina and after a route of 64 km flows into the Ionian Sea, creating many ecosystems that many species of animals and plants are hosted. The river crosses the valley formed between the mountains of West Epirus and near the village Trikastro (the boundaries of the Prefectures of Ioannina, Preveza and Thesprotia), enters in a narrow and imposing gorge formed by the mountains of Paramythia and Souli (Straits of Acheron ) from where it exits near the village Glyki. Then enters to the plain of Fanari, where it forms a delta at its mouth (Mouth of Acheron) in the cove of Ammoudia.
